Our Story

DailyBrief UK was created to cut through the noise. Every day, UK professionals and engaged citizens are bombarded with headlines, alerts and commentary — much of it unverified, repetitive or spun. We saw the need for a publication that delivers what readers actually want: concise, accurate briefings on UK politics, business and public affairs, without hype or filler. DailyBrief.uk is operated by DailyBrief Digital Media Ltd., a UK-registered digital media company based in London.

Brevity with rigour — what do I need to know, verified.

Editorial philosophy

Our editorial philosophy, set by Editor-in-Chief Eleanor Whitcombe, is brevity with rigour. Every briefing must answer the core question “What do I need to know?” in as few words as possible, while never sacrificing verification or context. Whitcombe oversees the publication’s editorial line, standards, news prioritisation, ethics, source vetting and final publication decisions.

How the newsroom works

Managing Editor James Calloway runs the daily news plan and editorial calendar, coordinating coverage across politics, business and public affairs. Each story begins with topic research using primary and reputable secondary sources. A named writer drafts the piece; it undergoes editorial review for accuracy and structure; key claims, figures and dates are fact-checked before final approval. Our desk editors include Priya Nair (Politics & Public Affairs) and Oliver Bennett (Business & Economy), with Amelia Foster leading audience development and Marcus Reed managing commercial partnerships — kept strictly separate from editorial decisions.

Transparency

If an error occurs, we correct it promptly and visibly, and material corrections carry a note. Readers can report issues to corrections@dailybrief.example. Where we use AI-assisted tools — for research, drafting, summarisation or editing — they never replace editorial judgement; every published article is reviewed by a human editor.
