DailyBrief UK corrects factual errors promptly, visibly and without excuses. This policy explains what we correct, how quickly, and how to escalate if you are not satisfied. It is owned by Editor-in-Chief and Responsible Publisher Eleanor Whitcombe.
What we correct
- Material errors — wrong facts, figures, dates, names, titles or attributions that affect the meaning of an article. These are corrected in the article and accompanied by a visible correction note explaining what changed and when.
- Minor errors — typos, formatting or style slips that do not change meaning. These are fixed without a note.
- Updates — where facts have changed since publication (prices, rates, schedules), we update the article and show an updated date.
How to report an error
Email corrections@dailybrief.example with a link to the article and a description of the issue — including, where possible, a source supporting the correction. The editorial desk acknowledges reports within two working days.
Timelines
- Material errors are assessed the same working day they are confirmed and corrected as soon as verification is complete — typically within 48 hours.
- If a claim is disputed but not yet resolved, we may add an editor’s note to the article while verification continues.
Escalation
- Report to the editorial desk: corrections@dailybrief.example.
- Not satisfied with the outcome? Escalate to the Editor-in-Chief and Responsible Publisher, Eleanor Whitcombe: eleanor.whitcombe@dailybrief.example · +44 20 7946 0832. She has final responsibility for all publication decisions.
- Material corrections are logged internally and carry a visible note on the corrected article.
Removals
We do not un-publish accurate journalism. Removal requests are considered only for legal reasons, demonstrable safety risks or serious privacy harm, and are decided by the Editor-in-Chief.
